I know I’m such a Vivier groupie but I love the look of her black messenger with black hardware. New for spring and bad ass.
I visited this bag today, thinking I might give it a nice home, and I learned that it’s not actually convertible — just one long strap. They stopped making the convertible versions awhile ago, apparently because they were breaking. :(
But on the bright side, I’m currently taking applications for my next Vivier purchase.
This Vivier clutch came in the mail today and it’s adorable and all but meh, I can live without. Can’t imagine wearing it next year, let alone forever.
Meanwhile, I’ve fallen most unexpectedly in love with the Sac Brettelle, a very simple handbag that can be worn three ways: cross-body, with the strap at full length, over the shoulder, with the strap doubled, or as a clutch, with the strap removed. Quite literally, it’s the foldover clutch with a strap. I saw it in Wink today — where I found my parka on sale! — and there is something immesurably appealing about the softness of the carmel leather and sparsity of design. So I think that shall be my next Vivier acquisition, if I still feel the same in a month or so.
Seriously though I’m getting so goddamn mature these days it’s borderline annoying.
Clare Vivier is gradually expanding her offerings at Shopbop, including this pair of irresistible* leopard print clutches, a selection of solid clutches, and this ladylike tote.
* Literally. I didn’t bother even trying to resist the one on the left. Still got a little hoochie in me yet.

Well looky here: ‘tis the color of my (replacement) Vivier pebbled clutch.
For those looking for a discount on Clare Vivier handbags...
Pretty Mommy is offering 25% off of orders over $150. There’s a long lead time (6-10 weeks) on delivery of most Vivier products — but you can expect the same if you order from her directly. Them’s the breaks!
My fellow Matta-and-Clare Vivier-loving Americans: Pretty Mommy is offering 25% off on purchases of more than $150. That puts a Dupatta and a foldover clutch under $140 and a Tropezienne at $240.
(Pssst, fellas … if your girl is on Tumblr, I can pretty much guarantee she would love all of the above for Christmas/whatever.)
