If you’re yammering and I’m making this gesture, don’t be offended.  You’re simply boring the pants off me.
From an archive of ex-bootlegger Sherman Billingsley’s hand signals to his staff at The Stork Club, via Cup of Jo.  This one means “Get them out & don’t let them in again.”
I’ve already informed M. I shall be making up a special hand signal that means “Bring me a Norichka, stat” for use when he’s tending bar at the new cocktail ventures.  Another one that will certainly come in handy: “Bring a bottle of Champagne”…

PS: I sometimes toy with the idea of naming a boy-child “Sherman.” I think it has old-fashioned appeal, not to mention an homage to mama, though I’m sure most people would think it cruel.
