Twitter babies
Last night I learned that my aunt was in labor with twins from my dad — via twitter!
Meanwhile, Arif announced Rasana’s birth via twitter.
Thankfully, he did not twitter the delivery (“breathe, breathe, now puusssshhh” … “she’s crowning” … “umbilical - snip!”) — just one note to let everyone know that “baby things may be moving” and then, 8 hours later: “a new daughter!”
I think this an excellent use of twitter / micro-insta-blogging.
However, I fear a slippery slope. (Will people start twittering their attempts to get pregnant, too? And then there’s those damned camera phones!)
I would like to proclaim right here, right now: I will never livestream the birth of my babies — or their inception, for that matter.
