I’ve been looking forward to The Wackness for a couple months, but my excitement tripled when I caught an ad for it on TV last night.
The ad had me at hello, as it were — it begins with the signature piano chords of Biz Markie’s “Just a Friend,” one of my favorite feel-good tunes of all time.
The movie looks adorable, a cleaner, sweeter Kids, with a kick-ass soundtrack.
How can you not want to see a teen romance/drug-dealing movie that has the line, “I got mad love for you, Shorty. I wanna, like, listen to Boyz II Men when I’m with you”? AND features Ben Kingsley as a drug-addled, infantile therapist?
It’s gonna be dope.
