[…] I’m waiting for the Blackberry Bold to come to Verizon (Sept. I believe), which is supposed to be similar to the iPhone. I just can’t bear to give up Verizon for the same reasons as you.

This one’s easy:

1. It’s mother f’ing slow.  Yeah, 3G’s gonna help, but I’ll believe it when I see it.  My T-Mobile Sidekick Internet Experience is a BREEZE.  (Fast as hell on rollerskates.)

2. It’s mother f’ing expensive, and not just the upfront cost.  My breezy experience is just $19.99 a month for the data plan, including all my texting / emailing / interwebbing needs.

3. I’m too cheap to buy out of my T-Mobile contract, given Issues #1 through #2.

In conclusion: Apple is getting closer.  But no cigar, not yet.
