You can be so proud that, from now on, it will be unremarkable for a woman to win primary state victories, unremarkable to have a woman in a close race to be our nominee, unremarkable to think that a woman can be the president of the United States.

Senator Clinton, today.

I’m getting tingles reading about her speech. I’ve drempt about a woman president since I was 8 and announced that it would be me. “Well, I hope we have one before that,” my mom said.

Clinton wasn’t The One, and not just because I disagree with her politically. If she became the first woman president, it wouldn’t be the unequivocal victory that American women will have in 2016. (There is something messed up about the fact that the only woman to come so close is following in her husband’s footsteps.)

Eight years from now, we will win this on our terms, no husbands involved (besides being pillars of strength / lights of life / consumate foot massagers).
