If GWB took as much leisure time as Obama has taken, the left would scream at the top of their lungs.

Just looked it up.
President Bush spent 1020 days (or 35% of his presidency, 2.79 years) - getting away from the White House.
In order for Obama to achieve Bush’s work-vacay ratio, he’d need to have been gone for about 50 days so far this year. You seriously want to take the over on that?
You got some beefs with Obama. I got some beefs with Obama. This? Pretty silly.
This has been on my mind. I’ve known that the President’s “leisure time” has been minimal, but it’s been so over-publicized that I could feel the panties of the right getting hot and sweaty. I just know they’re rarin’ to make an issue of it. (Fox News has been stoking the flames from the get-go, dredging up McCain’s failed “celebrity” mud-slinging and adding up the cost of their date nights, suggesting that they’re squandering taxpayer money.)
I’ve even started having imaginary conversations: Look, Mr. President, I know you and the Missus deserve a little R & R more than anyone else in the country, but can you just not take those few hours off? We’re dealing with some crazy-ass bitches here, the kind that have driven up the cost of assault weapons because they fear you might do the humane thing and start regulating their sale. Best not to give them any ammunition.
Anyway … thanks for keepin’ ‘em honest, southpol.
