Thought for Food Fashion.
Marc Jacobs was on our flight — in the super-premiere first class, mas oui. I was so ecstatic when I was boarding that I flashed him a big smile and he smiled back. Later I saw him at the baggage claim. He was having a little temper tantrum with his assistant, who was trying to round up his luggage, which included 3 massive LV bags, a Samsonite case that could double as a child’s coffin, and a black Birkin in hand. He was wearing pristine white Oxfords, which all le French gay boys seem to love. He’s short. Aren’t they all? PS: Have you seen his awesome Simpsons tattoo?
Also, we went shopping in the Marais yesterday and I fell madly in love with a grey Paul & Joe wool motorcycle jacket and a freaking perfect dove grey handbag (not sure the label). I told M. I’d think about them but that was a lie because I already knew I was going to go back and buy both and I blame/thank Mandie who said, “SPULGE IN PARIS!”
There was a “secret” Chloe store that seriously looked like you were on Canal Street except everything was 500 euro plus, so, er, not fake, then. It’s here if you’re interested rich: 8, rue de Jean Pierre Timbaud 75011. My friend Lynette tipped me off and said to say a stylist friend recommended it — “just make up a name.” So I was going to tell them it was Rachel S——- (figured she’d appreciate it) but they didn’t even stop me going in. Viva la recession!
I think I might be magic because before I came I said, “I want a bracelet with a teensy skull and a black lightweight-but-warm cardigan from Paris” and I found both without even looking and the latter is trimmed with leather and I am a little hungover and tired right now but man, I love this city.
I saw this black and white handbag in person; it’s super cute but you can buy it in the US so no thank you!
Wolfords are marginally cheaper here so I stocked up for winter.
The pics are from the Bon Marché, the legendary department store. It means “the good deal” but um the cheapest brand they sell is Isabel Marant (le swoon) so something may have gotten lost in translation. Loved the London themed exhibit. I pet these pretties and hoped they’d follow me home but they didn’t so le sigh.
My credit card is my best friend.
The end.
