India’s festival of lights inspires Holiday windows at Louis Vuitton.
This is a joke, right? They’re going to use lights in their display as a homage to … Diwali? As if their usual Christmastime displays wouldn’t use … lights?
And they couldn’t be bothered to find an Indian model? Fuck’s sake. (HELLO!)
(Cynical me thinks: LV knows that BRIC is the future, so they pander, but without, you know, dropping the high-brow racism.)

Louis Vuitton is taking a bit of inspiration from India for it’s upcoming Holiday store window displays. Starting this November 5, 2010 Louis Vuitton stores will pay homage to Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. The brand collaborated with Indian artist Rajeex Sehito to design its windows which will feature its famous monogram trunks that will be hand painted and internally lit. Special limited edition items such as dresses made of vintage saris, as seen above, will also be available.
