Do you know anyone who has had a pancreatic tumor? Or a doctor who works in this area?

If so (and if you are willing to discuss it privately) please email me at nora@shermanhome.com. And please reblog.

One of my best friends has an IPMN (pre-cancer/early malignancy) tumor in her pancreas. While it’s not fatal, there is no magic-bullet treatment; every option has significant downsides. She has surgery to remove the tumor scheduled for this fall and has visited some of the most advanced cancer treatment hospitals in the country but she does not feel that she has learned all she can about the condition and her options.

While it’s a long shot — an IPMN pancreatic tumor in a person in their 20s is rare — we think that there’s a chance that reaching out this way will help us find people she can talk about it to, who have been through it or are going through it, or doctors who specialize in this whom she may not have found in her research.

Thank you so much.

(I can exhale now. God that was hard to write.)
